Thanks to my wonderful family for my Christmas present this year, a family retreat to the The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. It was such an enjoyable and grace-filled event and I'm so glad we went.
This was our Christmas Card picture this year which I didn't send out until January - still well within the 12 Days of Christmas. We had just come out of Mass in the Shrine with the Nuns and Confession. Photos are not allowed inside, but there are some lovely shots posted on the shrine's website.
We had just come out of the Castle de San Miguel where we were shopping for Catholic gifts and were on our way to in the church. It was about 5 p.m. and the sun was down.
Next we headed back to St. Mary's Guesthouse for dinner and an exciting game of Risk.
Alex was the winner, achieving world domination!
The guesthouse was a mile from the Shrine, so we decided to walk/skate down there.
What a great Christmas present! I read Raymond Arroyo's biography of Mother Angelica over the holidays, and it was wonderful. What an incredible woman!
