Not today, for I'm really rooting for ANYBODY BUT THE YANKEES to go to and then win the
World Series. But for that one day, weekend really, I was a fan. It happened to be the first home game after the death of beloved Yankee owner George Steinbrenner
and the voice of Yankee Stadium Bob Shepherd.
We got to watch the pitcher with the best record in the major leagues
and someone we wish had stayed with the Atlanta Braves.
We had awesome seats.
and these two guys are still Yankees fans, sporting team hat and shirt all over town here in Braves Country.
The Yankees won that night, their only victory in the weekend series with Tampa Bay, and the sold out stadium went wild! After the game, Sinatra's New York, New York was played over and over again, and the crowd loved it. That was when we snuck the following pictures, which the usher later told us were prohibited.
