Long, long, ago, my husband and I and our two oldest visited the Big Apple. We did many touristy things, such as visit the top of the Empire State Building, take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry, go to Times' Square and the Museum of Natural History, and attend a NY Yankees game.
Ok, it was really just this past July. Now that October is quickly approaching, I figure I had better get the blog post done. This is only part I of the post, as the majority of my pictures are on the other camera and I haven't downloaded them yet. Hopefully I'll get to that before another three months have past. After you finish reading this one, you'll probably hope so too, as most of these are boring ones.
For example:
You see, we spent a good deal of time waiting on hot subway platforms. It reminded me of the movie Ghost, which we really need to put in our Netflix que.
There was a really long line to go to the top of the Empire State Building, which was really a big change since the last time I did it back in 1984 or 85. I definitely recommend paying the extra bucks to get an express ticket if you want to go there. We were trying to go at sunset as recommended, but we arrived atop at dark.
We weren't exactly at the top. The picture below shows the view up.
And next is straight down.
We were sure to take the obligatory photos in Times' Square, which our Facebook Friends have already seen.
Finally, if you're headed to NYC, we know of an awesome Jewish deli that you should visit. It came highly recommended by a volunteer at the history museum, and it did not disappoint. The boys weren't too keen on posing in front of it though.
Please be sure and come back soon to see more exciting pictures of our fun trip. In fact, since you've been so patient so far, here's a sneak peak at our ferry ride.
It's called "Getting Ready to Disembark".
