Can I be the leader of this pack?
They are two one-year-old German Shepherds, and their previous owner couldn't take care of them anymore and gave them to us. They're supposed to be our new guard dogs, but they seem like little sweethearts to us.
This brother and sister pair has lived almost exclusively in a little pen and now we're introducing them to the big world. They've been in our back yard for two days, and today we took them over to the new house to let them roam the 4 acres.
I wish I had gotten a picture of them running along the fence with the neighbor's horse. They became pals with the horse right away and were pretty much mesmerized.
Despite the fact that they are more than twice his size, they cower to Sparky's growls.
I picked up some books on dog training at the library and I'm trying some things out. They sure need it.
Oh Wow - Vicki, they are *gorgeous*!!! GSDs can really be a handful when they are young, but boy are they worth it once you get them trained - those two are a beautiful pair! I'm trying not to be jealous [I need more dogs like I need a hole in my head LOL!].
I hope you get to really enjoy them and that they become excellent guard dogs for you guys!
