So if I keep this pace, I'll have 100 classes by September for the 3rd year in a row. Unbelievable!
Some people have asked me how I manage to find time to attend Jazzercise regularly, and if I feel that it takes time away from homeschooling, and to tell the truth, I'm not quite sure. But I know it is actually instrumental in my ability to keep up with these boys. Not only that, I'm setting a good example of exercising for life. I used to expect the kids to exercise while I sat around and got fat. Now I am showing them that it is important to exercise all of your life. In fact, it is more important to exercise over 40 than before.
Also, the wonderful instructors at Jazzercise inspire me to become a better teacher. Brandi, especially, is a superb teacher who knows just how to motivate her students. She gets great attendance at 8:15 a.m when many folks are sitting down to breakfast. She motivates me to get up early and sit in traffic for 20 minutes just to work out. She even makes her classes more difficult than many others but she motivates us to want to push ourselves harder. I pick up on her motivational techniques and use them on my students. I read Bravewriter blog that teaching is 90% inspiration and 10% perspiration. If I can learn how to better do that, then I'll have it made with homeschooling.
All of the teachers at the West Cobb Jazzercise Center are great, and I love going there. I also love the way it makes me feel when I can keep up with the kids as they run through the park, and as I can take the steps two at a time without getting out of breath.
I may not be a Jazzercise poster child, because i still have lots of weight to loose, but I'm not doing it to loose weight. The reason I go is to be healthy, have fun and feel better. And even though I haven't lost any weight, I definitely look better in my clothes than I did before.
That's awesome Vicki! What a great example you are setting!
